QLD and NSW P plate car restrictions?

I live in Queensland at the moment and am looking at buying my first car, though i think it is prohibited because of its power. Plus I will be moving to New South Wales next year where they are even more strict. Its a 1994 Skyline 6 cylinder with turbo. So I would like to know if im going to get fined before i buy it.
