Do you feel exotic animals being kept as pets is cruel?

I love animals. I have a double yellow head amazon, a ball python, and an iguana. I also have 2 dogs, guinea pigs, fish,etc... but those are more common domesticated animals. So i'm referring to parrots and reptiles for example. I love and care for them dearly, they are like my children. However, lately I've been feeling guilty for having them as pets, because I'm depriving them of their freedom in the wild. You know? I feel being the animal lover that I am, I am maybe doing wrong by having these creatures as pets. :/ What do you think? Do you generally think it's cruel to keep these kind of animals as pets? My parrot thinks he's my husband and is very protective of me. I also get judged for feeding my ball python mice from my friends and family. I've always been an avid discovery channel/animal planet person, and love reptiles. I always saw it as part of the food chain, and now I'm starting to feel guilty over owning these sort of pets. How do you feel about these animals being kept as pets?
