If someone had warrant for shoplifting would it show up on routine traffic stop?

My friend George shoplifted some books at a Barnes and NObles about 5 months ago. When he walked out the alarm went off and when they asked him to stop he got into his car and drove off. He never heard anything since then , but he is wondering if they had put out a warrant for him , would he get locked up next time police pulled him over for a traffic stop ? Because he has been pulled over since then and nothing happened..............Also he went to the Courthouse and asked if he had any warrants and they told him no. Is it likely the store didnt press charges since it was just a book
