How would you feel if you child received a detention for not being prepared for cl?

My son got them all the time but he's learned and now he comes to cl prepared most of the time. Middle school is a big leap up in responsibility. Even though you don't like it, it teaches good life lessons, such as, you have to be responsible for your actions. I think parents should support the school system in their ideals even if they don't necessarily agree. It shows kids that when rules are made you need to follow them.
